We made several stops in here while staying at Pelican Cove, after reading the other reviews listed I could not disagree more. Our experience, was beyond amazing. Patrick is phenomenal, extremely helpful, and extremely genuine man. Patrick provided fishing advice and guidance, he was very knowledgeable of the waters. We were extremely impressed with the quality of products. We will return here next time we are in the area.

Friendly and neat place to stop for bait

Ables is the best. A few months ago I came in for shrimp. Pat helped me , showed me how to set the bait, and gave me a bunch of local tips on where to go. We caught a whole bunch of fish for my first time in my life. Now, I'll only go to Ables. Their prices on bait are super reasonable compared to others in the area, and the service from Pat is A+++.

My best bait shop experience while fishing in the keys. So good i came back twice and glad i did. The owner gave me an awesome tutorial on how to hook a shrimp a special way and it worked like a charm. FRIENDLY STAFF VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER AND GREAT BAIT! =]

Came all the way from Bartow Fl. went to a few bait stores only to be let down or treated bad, then came to this store...and wow Patrick that works there is the bomb. He taught and showed us everything we needed to know...and had everything that we needed to fish with, thanks Patrick.

He gave me a ton of tips on how to “fish like a local” and the inside of his store was impeccable. He also teaches a free “fish like a local” class which I am really looking forward to attending!! Not the same family run business since some name brand corporate company came in to collaborate. Couldn't find any Abel logo souvenirs, very disappointed.

This place was awesome. Stopped here to get some live bait and the guy working helped me out a lot! Gave me some pointers and let me go down to the dock at the marina and catch some of my first salt water fish! Highly recommend going here!

Patrick is a breath of fresh air in the keys. There are too many B&T shops in the keys with pretentious employees who talk down to you. I am assuming that Patrick is the owner because his customer service was beyond great. If he’s not the owner, he deserves a raise. His suggestions allowed me to have the BEST fishing day EVER!!!—Put the kayak inside the car, go see Patrick and do whatever he says. Cheers!

Great experience! Patrick was super helpful. We are visiting the area from out of state and learning to fish. Patrick took the time to teach us a few fishing tricks and set us up with everything we needed. Will definitely be making this our bait stop every year!!

Sick little tackle shop. Not a tons of rigging, but what you need to get on the fish. Patrick’s the man. He hooked us up with live shrimp and what we needed to get on a good bite. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area.
